The drawn image. A skill envied since the Lascaux cave paintings of the paleolithic.
Whether pencil sketch, vector, computer-generated, or pen and ink, beautiful illustration can make or break great advertising.
But not all drawings exist for marketing. And it’s hardly fair to impose the label “drawing” on professional illustration anymore. Art specifically created for communication can be a myriad of mediums for a variety of purposes: children’s books, framed art, storyboards for animations, comic books, visuals for editorial articles, infographics and technical illustrations, to name a few.
Need a great illustrator for your own project? There are wonderful online communities where extremely talented individuals are for hire. Try Dribbble (that’s three B’s), Behance or DeviantArt if you’re on the hunt.
Otherwise, here’s a sampling of some of our favorite works of art. Enjoy! Hopefully they inspire your own pencil to misplace a little sedentary dust.
